Challenge: Exposed Copper Wires in Motor Connection Caps
During our routine pre-shipment inspection, our quality control team discovered an issue with exposed copper wires inside the motor connection caps of some industrial fans. This posed a significant risk of electrical leakage and safety hazards, which could have impacted the safety and reliability of our products.
Solution: Immediate Action and Process Optimization
Step 1: Batch-Wide Inspection
Upon identifying the issue, we conducted a thorough inspection of all remaining finished products in the affected batch to determine the scope of the problem.
Step 2: Root Cause Analysis
We traced the issue back to a specific production process and identified the worker responsible for installing the motor connection caps. By understanding the root cause, we could address the problem effectively.
Step 3: Rework and Team Training
- Reworking Products: All affected products were reworked to ensure there were no exposed wires, completely eliminating any risks of electrical leakage.
- Training the Production Team: We provided additional training for the production team to reinforce the importance of safety in every assembly step.
- Enhanced Quality Protocols: We updated our inspection protocols to catch similar issues earlier in the production process.
